About Me

Hello, my name is Kirstie Chalker, I have been employed at Growing Abilities since 2015 as Nursery Manager and Horticulturist. I am passionate about Therapeutic Horticulture, Permaculture and the exiting potential Growing Abilities holds for the people of Goulburn. At Growing Abilities we teach hands on Horticultural skills to people of all ages and abilities. We are a registered NDIS service provider and we are here to support you achieve your goals. We grow all plants onsite here in Goulburn and we would love YOU to join our highly qualified, and passionately enthusiastic team.

Tasks you can be involved with include:
Growing plants for our wholesale and retail nursery.
Work in our veggie patch and orchard
Garden Maintenance team
Art and craft classes
Art and craft groups
Weekend workshops
Living skills
Literacy numeracy

Christine (SLES)

SLES is an NDIS support for young people with a disability. We can assist by building up your employability skills, increasing your self-confidence and independence.

It can support you to increase your motivation to enter the workforce, you can enter via a supported hospitality work placement, developing relevant skills such as barista, customer service and touch typing. We help you with travel training which ensures you are confident to use public transport, while assisting you with L’s test preparation. There’s an option to learn about just about anything such as gardening, cooking and working in a team envrironment, in readiness for your employment.

Since 2010, Growing Abilities has been home to an impressive collection of plants, gardening tools and supplies. We believe that everyone should give gardening a try, and we’re here to help make that happen.

From beginners to seasoned gardeners, we’ll help make your space greener.
Our Garden Centre boasts a diverse and ever changing selection of plants and pots. Make sure to visit our nursery to discover an oasis full of greenery to make your own.
